What Every Parent Needs To Know
To some extent, the right brain and left brain have directly opposite working characteristics.
The left brain is the “reasoning” brain which is more logical and analytical. It processes single pieces of data at a low speed in a systematic way consciously.
The right brain is the “visualisation” brain which is more imaginative and intuitive. It automatically processes large amounts of data at a high speed subconsciously.
Therefore, it is important to balance the development of the right and left hemispheres in order realise the fullest potential of the whole brain.
The rate of brain growth is fastest from birth to 6 years old. From 0 to 3 years old, the synapses in the child’s brain are formed at a much faster rate than any other time in their life. This allows the child to absorb more information and learn faster than adults. As a child grows beyond 6 years old, the rate of brain growth slows down. This leaves a crucial “golden” period where it is most effective to receive right brain training for stimulation and development.
As the right brain is responsible for imaginative and holistic thinking, Heguru Method right brain training will aid in the following areas:
- Photographic Memory
- Critical Thinking
- Holistic Reasoning
- Strong Linguistic Abilities
- Increased Mental Speed
- Imagination and Creativity
- Visuospatial Abilities
- Moral Disciplines
The optimal period to develop the right brain is from birth to 3 years old. If left untrained, the right brain function will rapidly decrease. It is important for a child to build a solid foundation through whole brain development at Heguru, which will give them a head start among their peers. The high volume of knowledge-base information will accumulate in the child’s mind subconsciously, which will be useful for them to tap on in the future.
*An IQ is calculated with 100 as the mean: the IQ of “80” is the border value for a special class. “120” borders the top class and “140” is said to be required for passing the entrance exam for Tokyo University. One can see how Heguru is succeeding in improving the IQ by “ability development.”
